This co-fermented coffee — with subtle notes of coconut and lemon — comes from producer Juan Pablo Velez and his farm Finca La Luisa, situated at an impressive 1,720 meters above sea level. The estate covers 70 hectares and is located near the village of San Bernardo de los Farrallones in Ciudad Bolívar, in the Antioquia region.

This micro-lot has been processed using an aerobic fermentation method, in which fresh coconut and lemon were added while the beans still had their sugar skin intact, the so-called Honey method. Since the coffee has not been pressurized — a common practice in fruit-fermented coffees—the result is that the fruity notes are slightly subdued. The result is a smooth, fruity coffee with a sweet, mild, with a modest acidity,. All in all a pleasant coffee.
