The Huila region of southwestern Colombia is highland and home to many volcanoes; the rich volcanic soils and lush climate make the area ideal for coffee cultivation and almost 20% of the country's coffee trees grow here.
This Gesha comes from 22 producers in the Terra Verde Asociación. The cooperative works directly with family-owned small farms, where knowledge and expertise are passed on from generation to generation. The focus is on developing the potential of each farm by harnessing collective capacity and promoting improvement and quality through knowledge transfer between producers.
The Ethiopian Gesha variety is new to the producers and they use the traditional washed method to process the coffee. The coffee is very delicate with an elegant character and taste of citrus fruit, mint and bergamott tea.
