This fully washed<\/b> coffee grown by Narcisa Salucio and Paula Perez, who are members of Jovemcafe<\/i> in the Huehuetenango region. Jovemcafe is a friendship and working group (Grupo de Amistad y Trabajo, GAT) led by women from the Indigenous Popti people. The group was formed in 2017 to jointly market its members\u2019 coffee and provide access to savings and microloans.<\/p>\n
The group\u2019s young and dedicated leader, Paula Isabel Perez Perez, has studied at the local agricultural college to become an agronomist specializing in coffee cultivation. The coffee is full-bodied, with bright, smoothly layered acidity and notes of caramel and plum jam.<\/p>\n
