Vi k\u00f6pte en ganska nedg\u00e5ngen g\u00e5rd 2015 f\u00f6r att vi vill l\u00e4ra oss allt om hur det \u00e4r att odla kaffe p\u00e5 riktigt. Johan har rest i m\u00e5nga kaffel\u00e4nder, g\u00e5tt fler steg p\u00e5 kaffeg\u00e5rdar \u00e4n de flesta, men det h\u00e4r \u00e4r n\u00e5got helt annat, det h\u00e4r \u00e4r h\u00e5rt arbete och fullt engagemang.<\/p>\n<p>V\u00e5rt m\u00e5l med Finca La Tierra \u00e4r att l\u00e4ra oss allt om att odla kaffe och samtidigt se hur vi b\u00e4sta kan utveckla g\u00e5rden. N\u00e4r vi k\u00f6pte g\u00e5rden v\u00e4xte h\u00e4r m\u00e5nga kommersiella hybrider s\u00e5som Supremo, Colombia &amp; Castillo. Vi har sedan dess tagit ner m\u00e5nga av dessa &#8211; de var gamla och k\u00e4nsliga f\u00f6r sjukdomar &#8211; och planterat en st\u00f6rre variation av varieteter s\u00e5som Bourbon, Pink Bourbon, Tabi, Pacamara och inte minst flera hektar Geisha.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vi har \u00e4ven planterat skuggtr\u00e4d f\u00f6r att skapa ett j\u00e4mnare klimat och mindre stress f\u00f6r tr\u00e4den, f\u00f6rt in kog\u00f6dsel och andra mer naturliga s\u00e4tt att g\u00f6dsla. Vi har ocks\u00e5 skapat en varietets-tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rd d\u00e4r vi hittills planterat 15 olika sorts kaffetr\u00e4d &#8211; f\u00f6r att se vad som passar i klimatet och smakar allra b\u00e4st.<\/p>\n<p>Vi \u00e4ger g\u00e5rden tillsammans med Heber Sarria, en k\u00e4nd person f\u00f6r m\u00e5nga kaffe\u00e4lskare. Hade inte han best\u00e4mt sig f\u00f6r att flytta till Colombia och ta ansvar f\u00f6r g\u00e5rden, skulle det inte vara m\u00f6jligt. Att driva en kaffeg\u00e5rd \u00e4r komplicerat, du m\u00e5ste vara d\u00e4r, jobba p\u00e5 g\u00e5rden, vara med arbetarna och inspirera dem. Det b\u00f6rjade med att vi byggde nya torkb\u00e4ddar s\u00e5 att vi kan kontrollera torkningen b\u00e4ttre. Men den st\u00f6rsta investeringen har varit att vi har k\u00f6pt maskiner som m\u00f6jligg\u00f6r att vi kan kontrollera v\u00e5rt kaffe hela v\u00e4gen till att det packas i jutes\u00e4ck f\u00f6r export.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Allt kaffe som vi numera producerar p\u00e5 La Tierra \u00e4r i form av mikrolotter, vilket betyder att varje varietet separeras och bearbetas separat. Kaffet torkas antingen i sitt b\u00e4r eller gennom med olika experimentella tekniker, speciellt anarob j\u00e4sning.
